When award-winning designer Rene Gonzalez was brought in to create a boutique condominium in the historic South of Fifth neighborhood, his goal was to seamlessly blend the rich historical elements of the community with contemporary design motifs.

One of the most striking representations of this design philosophy is the Louver House’s slated entry pavilion, which was made from an old carriage house. The three-story building features 12 units ranging from 2,088 to 2,432 square feet. Starting at $1.9 million, the three-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom residences include private elevators; open floor plans; lavish kitchens; huge walk-in showers and bathtubs encased by glass windows; 10-foot ceilings; and walkout patios with nooks for dining, sitting, and lounging. Amenities include a rooftop garden deck, an infinity pool, a fitness center, outdoor yoga studio, and a sunken garden. (Inquiries: 786.853.8484;
